Philadelphia Eagles fans have officially received the news they have dreaded for weeks.

Jason Kelce announced his retirement from the NFL, an announcement that was filled with tears and positive memories from his time with the team.

After this press conference, Kelce spoke more about his decision in a recent segment of his podcast.

“The one thing I’m disappointed about retiring right now is I’m retiring when the Eagles had potentially the biggest collapse in the history of the organization. Not potentially, probably the most,” Kelce said Wednesday on the “New Heights” podcast.

While Kelce clearly is okay with his decision to retire and spend more time with his family, he wasn’t happy with the way his last season unfolded.

As he mentions, the Eagles’ season is something he wishes he could have a do-over on.

He called their season “the biggest collapse” in franchise history.

The Eagles started the season strong, and after the halfway point, it seemed that no team could take them down.

That quickly changed for whatever reason, and the Eagles went from the NFC’s heroes to a Wild Card team, where they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the playoffs.

Kelce didn’t exactly ride off into the sunset, but he will go down in team history as one of their best offensive linemen.

There is talk that Kelce will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, given his success at the center position.

Whatever he does next will be closely monitored by Eagles fans, who have grown to love and admire Kelce.
