The Pittsburgh Steelers could do a lot better at quarterback.
They’re reportedly not going to pursue Justin Fields in a trade, and most reports agree that they’re looking forward to giving Kenny Pickett another opportunity to prove his worth, this time with a new offensive coordinator.
Nonetheless, Steelers beat writer Gerry Dulac has different information.
Per his report, they’re about to meet with Russell Wilson, and both parties are interested in reaching an agreement.
Steelers are interested in signing Russell Wilson and are tentatively planning to meet with the former Broncos QB before start of free agency, per sources. Wilson has interest in joining Steelers. Story in PG forthcoming.

Truth be told, this shouldn’t be much of a surprise, and it only makes sense.
The Steelers need an efficient passer who can take care of the football and extend plays, and that describes Wilson.
Granted, he’s not the player he used to be, but he was still able to put up more-than-decent numbers and limit his turnovers despite not being in a great position in Denver, not to mention the fact that most of his receivers missed time with injuries.
The Steelers have one of the best coaches in the game, and their defense will always be great for as long as Mike Tomlin is there.
They also have some solid skill players who could benefit from better quarterback play and a new offensive coordinator who has already found success in a similar situation.
Then again, whether they’ll decide to roll with Wilson or continue to stick with Pickett, who was a first-round pick just a couple of years ago, remains to be seen.
