Bill Belichick’s tenure with the New England Patriots is officially over.
He had an impressive run with the team, but after seeing how the past four seasons have gone, the front office decided to go in a different direction.
While he was initially expected to get snatched up by an NFL team to be their head coach, Belichick remains unemployed.
After seeing the coaching landscape, Craig Carton predicted that Belichick will be with a new team sooner rather than later.
“When Daboll and Schoen get fired after this year, Bill Belichick will be the new head coach, general manager, president, and team owner of the New York Giants,” Carton said.

While Carton is merely joking about Belichick being the president and team owner, he is serious about him taking over as the Giants’ head coach.
The Giants had a great first season under Brian Daboll in 2022, making it to the playoffs and winning their Wild Card matchup with the Minnesota Vikings.
However, they could not replicate that success in 2023, putting Daboll and the rest of his coaching staff on the hot seat.
There have been a lot of rumors surrounding the Giants heading into the NFL Draft, namely, what they will do at quarterback.
They did sign Daniel Jones to a four-year deal, but if they are unhappy with his performance, they could target a QB, hoping to have a competition at the position.
Regardless of what they do, this could be a do-or-die season for Daboll and his staff.
If the 2024 season is viewed as a failure for the Giants, it will be interesting to see if they make a significant coaching change and add Belichick.
