After locking up superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson on a lucrative long-term deal before the 2023 NFL season, the Baltimore Ravens set their team up for success in the years ahead, with one of the best quarterbacks in the game leading the way under center.
However, the Ravens can’t simply lean on Jackson to lead the franchise to the Super Bowl, as the team will need to keep a talented squad around their face of the franchise and be willing to pay the price with hefty deals.
On Friday, Baltimore secured the future of one of their best defensive players as the team came to terms with defensive tackle Justin Madubuike on a four-year deal.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Madubuike and the Ravens agreed to a four-year deal worth $98 million, with $75.5 million in guarantees.

Madubuike is coming off his best season with the Ravens, in which he earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors for the first time in his NFL career, setting up this enormous payday for the 26-year-old.
The Texas A&M product took his game to another level entirely during the 2023 campaign, recording a career-high 13.0 sacks to go along with a forced fumble and 38 solo tackles.
With Madubuike back in the fold for the next four years, the Ravens will be able to maintain pressure on opposing quarterbacks while making the defense that much more formidable.
It’ll be interesting to see what the next moves will be for Baltimore as the team will try to seize the moment of being in their championship window with Jackson under center.
