After flaming out in the NBA playoffs last year, with Rudy Gobert punching a teammate on the bench and Jaden McDaniels breaking his hand by punching a wall on the way to the locker room, the Minnesota Timberwolves looked like a mess going into the NBA offseason, with some expectations for the team to shake things up.
However, that didn’t happen as the team chose to stay relatively the same during the offseason and give the current squad another shot to prove its worth, and with the NBA playoffs right around the corner again, Anthony Edwards and company have done just that.
As of Friday, Minnesota is currently sporting the best record in the Western Conference at 44-19 while winning seven out of their last 10 games and looking like a team that is ready for the postseason.
With the Timberwolves turning it on this year and likely heading into the postseason with the top seed in the West, Edwards deserves a lot of credit for leading this squad, which seemed dysfunctional a year ago.
Harry Lyles Jr. of ESPN argues that Edwards is the one player in the league that can channel Kobe Bryant’s “Mamba Mentality,” via “Around The Horn.”

Edwards is currently having the best season of his young career in the NBA, as he is dominating the competition on a nightly basis while leading the Timberwolves to victory seemingly every other day.
He is averaging a career-high 26.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game while shooting 46.7% from the floor and 37.9% from three-point range.
