Damian Lillard is the perfect example of the skills that a modern-day guard should possess to be successful in the NBA.

Lillard is known for his elite three-point shooting ability and has won his team several games thanks to it.

Sure, Stephen Curry is viewed as the GOAT three-point shooter, but Lillard has had his fair share of clutch moments.

In fact, Lillard recently reached the fourth spot on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers made list.

Lillard surpassed Indiana Pacers legend Reggie Miller on the list, who shared his reaction to it via Chris Haynes.

“Congratulations Dame on moving up the charts. I’ve always loved your mentality and approach as a shooter,” Miller said.

There are a plethora of instances when former NBA players have taken offense to modern stars breaking their records.

However, Miller wished Lillard nothing but success upon reaching the milestone against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Miller is regarded as one of the best 3-point shooters of all time, and even in an era where teams didn’t encourage players to shoot from the deep, the Pacers legend finished his career with 2,560 3-pointers made.

Lillard currently has 2,564 3-point shots made in his career.

However, considering the fact that Lillard still has a few good years left in him, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he can reach the 3,000 mark on the list.

As of now, Stephen Curry remains the only player in NBA history to have more than 3,000 3-pointers made in their career.
