D’Angelo Russell got his start in the NBA playing on the Los Angeles Lakers with Jordan Clarkson.
Now all these years later, Clarkson has moved on to the Utah Jazz and Russell has bounced around the league and returned to the Lakers.
On Friday night, Russell had his biggest game of the season, scoring 44 points and a game-winning bucket to lead LA to a 123-122 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
On Twitter, Clarkson showed support for his former teammate with a simple message: “dlo.”
That was all that needed to be said and everyone knew what he was talking about.

Clarkson was drafted back in 2014 and started playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 11.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
The following year, Russell was selected as the second overall pick by the Lakers.
During his opening season, Russell put up 13.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists.
This was during a stretch of time when the Lakers were doing quite poorly and sat toward the top of the draft selection.
So they compiled a group of young up-and-coming players who would later find a lot of success in the league.
Their talent didn’t translate to wins for the Lakers at the time but some of the youthful talent that LA acquired during that time has turned into legitimate superstars.
Russell, Clarkson, Julius Randle, and Brandon Ingram are some of the players who cut their teeth together with the Lakers during that time.
Because of that, they will always support one another and Clarkson’s tweet on Friday was proof of that.
Will Clarkson and Russell ever play together again?
There has been some speculation that the Jazz might be willing to say goodbye to him soon.
Will he find his way back to the Lakers and play with his old friend again?
