The Kansas City Chiefs have to pay their man.
Everybody knew just how important DT Chris Jones was for this team, but it became even more evident last season.
The Chiefs rallied behind Steve Spagnuolo’s elite defense to win their second consecutive Super Bowl, and Jones had plenty to do with that.
That’s why the Chiefs entered the offseason with Jones at the top of their priority list.
They placed CB L’Jarius Sneed under the franchise tag and are now expected to trade him, saving up some money for their big guy.
With that in mind, the fans went crazy when Jones posted yet another cryptic message on Twitter, sharing an hourglass emoji.
Some think he’s talking about it being just a matter of time before he signs a new deal to stay with the Chiefs, while others think he’s just trolling.

Whatever the case, Jones has made a name for himself for his cryptic tweets, but his latest activity on social media teased about a potential return to Arrowhead Stadium, as he shared a pic of himself and head coach Andy Reid celebrating their Super Bowl win.
The Chiefs desperately need to do whatever it takes to get Jones paid.
He’s reportedly looking to get a deal similar to Aaron Donald’s, meaning he could be looking at north of $30 million per year.
And while the Chiefs might feel like that’s too pricey for them, multiple teams could be lining up to give him the kind of money he’s worthy of.
