The Kansas City Chiefs just got their guy.
Chris Jones will stay at Arrowhead Stadium for the next five years, at the very least, all while getting paid a lot of money.
The Chiefs broke the bank to keep their star defensive tackle, and former NFL QB Robert Griffin III took to Twitter to share his thoughts on this move.
Griffin III stated that keeping Jones was by far the most important offseason move the Chiefs could’ve done.
He pointed out the fact that Jones is No. 1 in QB pressures among DTs and No. 5 among all pass rushers over the past three seasons, adding that the core four of Jones, Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce gives the Chiefs a legitimate chance to three-peat.

The Chiefs want to do something that’s never been done before, and keeping Jones in town makes that a realistic possibility.
We already know what Patrick Mahomes is capable of on offense, and with Rashee Rice taking a leap in his second season and the Chiefs giving him some more weapons, they should be as deadly as usual, and much better than they were last season.
Steve Spagnuolo, on the other hand, will continue to work on his championship-caliber defense, once again anchoring it around the best defensive tackle in today’s game.
Jones will make almost $32 million per year with $95 million guaranteed, and while that may seem like a lot of money for a defensive tackle, he’s the ultimate difference-maker for the Super Bowl champions.
