The Cincinnati Bengals could lose one of their best players.

They’re in a tough spot, salary cap-wise, and they might not be able to afford him.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that star WR Tee Higgins has requested a trade, as he’s not happy about the fact that they haven’t even reached out to him to talk about a contract extension after placing him under the franchise tag.

With that in mind, Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe shared his thoughts about the most logical destinations for him.

Talking on “First Take,” he named the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints, and Carolina Panthers as teams that would make sense.

“Can you imagine [Tee Higgins] with Patrick Mahomes?”

Then again, he thinks the Kansas City Chiefs should be all over the Bengals to try and get Higgins.

Sharpe stated that Higgins might be too pricey for the Chiefs, as he’ll demand something close to $30 million a year.

However, the legendary tight end believes he’s just what they need to three-peat, as Rashee Rice will continue to get better, they still have Travis Kelce, and they extended Chris Jones.

The Bengals could also be hesitant to trade him to a direct rival, as the Chiefs and Bengals could square off in the AFC Championship Game multiple times in the next couple of years.

Whatever the case, Higgins will most likely be headed somewhere else, as the Bengals need to save up to get Ja’Marr Chase the record-breaking contract extension he’s going to demand sooner rather than later.
