Over the past couple of years, it has seemed inevitable that veteran running back Saquon Barkley would be leaving the New York Giants at some point in the near future, as he had become increasingly frustrated with not feeling valued by the team.

After six seasons with the Giants, Barkley finally left the Giants in NFL free agency this week, as the two-time Pro Bowler agreed to terms with the division-rival Philadelphia Eagles.

Barkley was expected to get a considerable amount of interest on the open market this offseason, with the upstart Houston Texans looking like the favorite to sign him, but obviously that didn’t come to fruition for whatever reason.

Instead, Barkley signed with a team that has been a bitter division rival for the entire time he spent with the Giants, which is rubbing some former Giants stars the wrong way.

Apparently, former Giants star running back Tiki Barber is livid that Barkley joined the Eagles and didn’t hold back in his comments on WFAN Sports Radio, via Complex Sports.

“You’re dead to us, Saquon,” Barber said. “Good luck, you’re dead to me.”

Barkley is one of many notable running backs in the league that changed teams this week, as he joins a long list that includes Josh Jacobs, Austin Ekeler, Tony Pollard, and Gus Edwards, to name a few.

With the Giants seeming like a sinking ship at this point, it was likely a smart move for Barkley to move on if he values winning, as Philadelphia likely has a better chance of being relevant in the NFC compared to New York.
