On the latest episode of “The Big Podcast,” Mario Chalmers stopped by to chat with Shaquille O’Neal and offer him a very interesting proposition.

According to a video shared by ClutchPoints, Chalmers said that O’Neal should suit back up for the court and play in the Big 3 basketball league.

O’Neal didn’t completely write off the idea, admitting that he had actually thought about playing recently but a hip surgery had him doubt if he could.

The fact that O’Neal didn’t immediately say no to Chalmers proves that he is at least somewhat interested in the idea of playing basketball again.

Obviously, his days of performing in the NBA are over but O’Neal could follow the path laid by Chalmers and other former players by signing up for another league.

The Big 3 league has found a ton of success and attention over the years by taking retired greats and teaming them against one another.

Players and fans have received a lot of joy from the league and others like it.

If O’Neal did decide that he was ready to play basketball at that level again, it would generate a ton of buzz because he’s easily one of the greatest NBA stars of all time.

During his 19 years in the league, he averaged 23.7 points and 10.9 rebounds and earned a ton of awards and accomplishments.

He was a 15-time All-Star, two-time scoring champion, three-time Finals MVP, and won four championships.

Since retiring from the Association, O’Neal has remained one of the biggest faces of the league and has found loads of success as a commentator, spokesperson, and more.

That means that if O’Neal did decide to play in the Big 3 or another league, he would simply be doing it because of his love of the game and not any sort of monetary needs.
