The Kansas City Chiefs entered the offseason with several needs for their roster.

One of their most essential prerogatives was to re-sign Chris Jones to a contract extension, which they were recently able to do.

The team is also still trying to negotiate a contract for L’Jarius Sneed, who has only been franchise-tagged at this time.

While they await Sneed’s potential deal, the Chiefs’ last pressing need was to bulk up their wide receiver room.

The Chiefs ended up signing Marquise Brown to a one-year deal, a contract that has been looked upon fondly by many across the league.

Brown seems excited to play for this team, but he recently declared that he might have been playing for them sooner.

According to reporter Mark Gunnels, Brown said, “I thought I was going to get drafted by the Chiefs.”

Brown was drafted in 2019 by the Baltimore Ravens with the 25th overall selection.

The Chiefs didn’t have a first-round pick that year, as their first pick was in the second round, where they ended up taking Mecole Hardman.

Regardless of where he was drafted, Brown is now connected with Patrick Mahomes, a connection that tends to go well for NFL players.

The Chiefs are coming off their second straight Super Bowl victory and are attempting the three-peat for the first time in NFL history.

It will be interesting to see Brown’s impact on this team, and if he will be a meaningful contributor throughout the season.

If he and Mahomes establish a great rapport early on, there’s no telling how high his ceiling might be.
