The Pittsburgh Steelers have been one of the most active teams during the NFL’s free agency period.

They have signed or traded for several marquee players, including Justin Fields and Russell Wilson.

Wilson and Fields represent a change of guard for this team, which was unhappy with Kenny Pickett’s performance.

With any luck, one of them will turn into the team’s full-time starter, hoping to bring the Steelers back to their days of dominance within the AFC North.

While a new quarterback can certainly help the Steelers’ chances of making a more significant impact in the division, they will need help.

Reporter Andrew Fillipponi recently indicated that Brandon Aiyuk is someone the Steelers have looked into over the past several weeks.

However, as he notes, Aiyuk is not a free agent, and as a result, the “Steelers would have to execute a sign and trade.”

If there is genuine interest in Aiyuk from the Steelers, this could be a good fit for all parties involved.

Aiyuk could start fresh on a new team, where he would have a chance to be the team’s bonafide WR1.

He could also sign a contract extension, which would garner significant financial gain for him and his family.

This would also be an excellent signing for the Steelers, as they would acquire an emerging receiver to help grow their team in a way that allows them to accomplish their goals.

There have already been several marquee moves in the offseason, and a sign and trade for Aiyuk would certainly be another one for the Steelers.
