The New York Jets were in desperate need of a quarterback, and they thought they had found their guy when they drafted Zach Wilson.

Fast forward to today, and the former No. 2 pick’s trade value is pretty slim.

ESPN insider Rich Cimini recently reported that teams want nothing to do with him due to his fully-guaranteed $5.5 million salary, not to mention his checkered body of work (via Dov Kleiman).

No team has expressed interest in QB Zach Wilson due to his poor play and $5.5M price tag, per @RichCimini

Cimini adds that he’s most likely hoping to be released so he can find himself a new job with no strings attached to it, adding that he doesn’t know how much longer the Jets will hope to find a trade partner.

Wilson has looked far from a franchise-caliber player in his days in the league.

He has shown occasional glimpses of solid play, and he was a star at BYU, but he hasn’t found the level of consistency or growth that one would expect from a No. 2 selection.

The Jets have officially moved on from him, signing Tyrod Taylor to be Aaron Rodgers’ backup.

Barring a string of injuries, it’s hard to envision him ever having another chance to prove his worth in this league.
