Discussion around the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft has been chaotic so far largely due to the uncertain quarterback market with so many teams in need of new franchise signal-callers and so many big-name prospects rocketing up the mock draft boards.

One thing that does seem to be progressing toward being an absolute certainty is the Chicago Bears selecting USC quarterback Caleb Williams with the No. 1 overall pick.

Analyst Adam Schein of CBS Sports discussed what the potential ceiling would be for the Bears with Williams at the helm in his recent article, and he believes the team can go on a Cinderella run in 2024.

What would the Bears’ ceiling be with Caleb Williams leading the way? @AdamSchein says one of the best QB prospects in recent memory is poised to push Chicago on a Cinderella run in the 2024 NFL season.https://t.co/2Nmp4tc7aB pic.twitter.com/PtSm105BHd

Schein noted how much of an impact some of Chicago’s offensive additions could have in terms of making Williams’ transition easier, namely adding star wide receiver Keenan Allen, bringing in veteran tight end Gerald Everett to help out incumbent rising star Cole Kmet, and signing D’Andre Swift to take over at running back after a career year in Philadelphia.

Schein called Williams, “the kind of quarterback Bears fans have been waiting on for a lifetime or longer, since the days of Sid Luckman.”

That’s high praise, but it’s not wrong, as the Bears have been one of the most unsuccessful franchises in NFL history when it comes to quarterback play.

In recent years, Mitch Trubisky and Justin Fields were both severely underwhelming, and neither was the top choice in their respective drafts.

The Bears finally have the chance to take the top guy on the board, and if Schein is right, things could turn around faster than many expect.
