The Boston Celtics will be looking to end their title drought in the 2024 NBA Playoffs as they’ve put together the best regular season of any team this year.

Boston is cruising to the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and they’re doing it with elite defense and an excellent offense spearheaded by Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

The last time the Celtics were holding the Larry O’Brien Trophy, they had their “Big 3″ of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen.

Pierce was named the Finals MVP of the 2008 NBA Finals after Boston beat the Los Angeles Lakers in six games.

Pierce would go on to play for several other teams, but is mostly remembered for his time with the Celtics.

The former All-Star forward doesn’t get brought up much when there are debates about some of the best players in league history, so Carmelo Anthony tried to set the record straight on his podcast via 7PM in Brooklyn.

“He don’t get enough credit,” Anthony said.

Anthony got to play against Pierce and knows how tough he was to defend during his prime.

Like Anthony, Pierce lived in the midrange area and had a knack for creating space to get his jump shot off.

Pierce has several accolades on his resume that include an NBA championship, a Finals MVP, 10 All-Star appearances, and several All-NBA teams.

Pierce and Anthony were also named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary team, adding more reason to believe that Pierce should be talked about more.

The Celtics legend’s legacy is secure after the career he had, though the current iteration of the team is hoping to have the same success he did.
