Coming into the 2023-24 NBA regular season, the Phoenix Suns were considered to be one of the most talented teams on paper, with the franchise acquiring Bradley Beal over the summer in a blockbuster trade with the Washington Wizards.
The three-headed monster of Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant was thought to be the most intimidating trio in the league, but much like last year, the team has struggled to come together and live up to expectations.
As a result, the Suns could potentially end up in the Play-In Tournament, with Phoenix currently sitting in the seventh seed in the Western Conference behind the red-hot Dallas Mavericks, who have won six straight games.
With the Play-In Tournament being a possible outcome for the Suns, Booker was asked about the team potentially having to play their way into the NBA playoffs this year, via Duane Rankin of AZ Central.
“It’s a possibility. It’s realistic,” Booker said. “We need to clean some things up and understand if we don’t clean those things up, we won’t be able to win it anyway, and that’s the ultimate goal. Whatever that path may be, I think we’ll be ready for it.”

Obviously, if the Suns end up in the Play-In Tournament and miss the NBA playoffs entirely, Phoenix will be one of the most disappointing teams of the season in the NBA, and there is no telling what could happen during the offseason.
The Suns brass has pulled out all the stops since Mat Ishbia took over as the new team owner, and this kind of end result for the season would be unacceptable.
