Christian McCaffrey is arguably the best running back in the NFL today, and ever since being traded to the San Francisco 49ers midway through the 2022 season, he has helped them reach the NFC Championship Game twice and the Super Bowl once.

His younger brother Luke McCaffrey has been a wide receiver for Rice University over the last three seasons, and he has made himself eligible for this year’s NFL Draft.

Per Aaron Wilson via Nick Schwager on Twitter, he visited with the Houston Texans.

The Texans are coached by DeMeco Ryans, who was the 49ers’ defensive coordinator during the 2022 campaign when Christian McCaffrey arrived in the Bay Area.

Luke McCaffrey emerged last season and caught 68 passes for 963 yards and 12 touchdowns as a member of the Rice Owls.

At this year’s NFL Scouting Combine, he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.46 seconds, and mock drafts have him going around the fourth round.

Both Luke and Christian McCaffrey come from some good stock, as their father Ed was a wide receiver for three teams, including the 49ers.

But Ed McCaffrey was best known for his time with the Denver Broncos from 1995 to 2003, and he won back-to-back Super Bowl championships while playing for head coach Mike Shanahan, the father of current 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.

The McCaffrey family also has another man who played in the NFL — Max, who suited up for six games in 2017 and 2018 with the 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Houston will have eight picks in this year’s draft, including five picks in rounds two through four.
