One of the biggest honors in the NBA is winning the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award.

The league says that the prize “recognizes the player deemed the best teammate based on selfless play, on- and off-court leadership as a mentor and role model to other NBA players, and commitment and dedication to team.”

There can only be one winner but the NBA announced the 12 finalists for the 2023-24 trophy on Tuesday morning.

The nominees are Harrison Barnes, Mikal Bridges, Jalen Brunson, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Mike Conley, Markelle Fultz, Al Horford, T.J. McConnell, Larry Nance, Jr., Georges Niang, Dwight Powell, and Jalen Williams.

This list proves that competition for Teammate of the Year is going to be very tough.

All of these players have been reaching new levels of greatness in 2023-24 but some have been gaining more attention than others.

For example, Brunson is having a banner year with his New York Knicks and has helped transform them into playoff contenders.

And although the Nets are struggling, Bridges has cemented himself as a very impactful guard who is scoring more than 20 points a night.

Jalen Williams is another player generating a ton of buzz.

Just one year after missing out on Rookie of the Year, he has enhanced his abilities in some huge ways and is averaging 19.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.

He is also working even better with the rest of this Oklahoma City Thunder squad and is one of the most exciting young players in the NBA right now.

Some of the players on this list, like Caldwell-Pope, Horford, and Conley, are seasoned vets who have shown just how much they can bring to a team via their leadership.

Together, this is a group of players that any team would be lucky to have.
