During his time with the Dallas Mavericks, point guard Jalen Brunson proved to be the perfect player to play alongside superstar Luka Doncic, as the two became a dynamic duo and were able to make it to the Western Conference Finals.

Unfortunately for Dallas, Brunson chose to leave the team in NBA free agency after making a name for himself as a pivotal piece to the puzzle for the Mavericks during their deep run in the NBA playoffs.

As a result, the New York Knicks were able to sign Brunson to a lucrative long-term contract, and the move has turned out to be a game-changer for the storied franchise while also being a massive mistake by the Mavericks and longtime team owner Mark Cuban.

Brunson has become a legitimate superstar while turning into the face of the Knicks franchise as he’s been able to lead his hometown team to near the top of the Eastern Conference standings.

As if Brunson’s rise to superstardom hasn’t been impressive enough, he’s been able to keep the Knicks competitive, even without fellow stars Julius Randle and OG Anunoby, who have been nursing injuries for quite some time.

Brunson has played so well as of late, highlighted by his career-high 61 points against the San Antonio Spurs recently, that ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins thinks the veteran is the best point guard in the league after earning Eastern Conference Player of the Month honors.

Brunson continues to get better and better as his confidence level has gone through the roof while becoming the new undisputed leader of the Knicks, as he’s averaging a career-high 27.9 points per game to go along with 6.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds per game.

With the Knicks currently being in fourth place in the East, Brunson will once again have an opportunity to showcase his skills in the NBA playoffs.
