The San Antonio Spurs landed the best talent we’ve seen in years.

Victor Wembanyama has been a wrecking ball on both ends of the floor, turning the team into must-watch television.

Nonetheless, as exciting and fun as he’s been to watch, Chris Russo isn’t that impressed by him.

Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” he claimed that Wembanyama isn’t even close to being a top-10 player, adding that fans and analysts are talking too highly of him.

He criticized his shooting efficiency and the fact that Nikola Jokic scored 42 points against him en route to a win, comparing him with guys like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Moses Malone.

That’s vintage Russo right there.

He doesn’t seem to be much of a fan of the modern game and will always look to compare young players with legends.

There should be no shame in losing a close game to the reigning NBA champions and against the reigning NBA Finals MVP, who also happens to be considered the best player on Earth right now.

Wembanyama still flirted with a quadruple-double, and that’s impressive.

Granted, the Spurs have been a bad basketball team, but not many No. 1 picks have been put in a position to succeed when they first entered the league.

Wembanyama is a unique player, something we had never seen in this game and something we might never see again.
