The Houston Texans dropped major news out of nowhere today, trading for superstar wide receiver Stefon Diggs of the Buffalo Bills and surrendering just a 2025 2nd-round pick in the process.
We haven’t had much time to let this trade digest yet, but one analyst is already firing off bold statements to set the early market for Diggs hot takes.
Bryant McFadden of CBS Sports said: “They are the next best team in my opinion outside of the Kansas City Chiefs.”

It’s a bold claim to make, but perhaps not too bold since the Texans did make a run to the Divisional Round of the playoffs last year and have had a strong offseason.
Diggs will step in as the immediate WR1 for C.J. Stroud and bump Tank Dell and Nico Collins down to WR2 and WR3, giving the Texans once of the best wide receiver rooms in the NFL.
Houston also added Joe Mixon at running back and brought in plenty of help on defense by signing Danielle Hunter, Denico Autry, Azeez Al-Shaair, and Jeff Okudah.
Other favorites in the AFC include the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and likely the New York Jets.
For a conference loaded with so much offensive talent, labeling the Texans as the second-best team is high praise.
As long as Stroud doesn’t have a sophomore slump, McFadden could be right.
We have seen in recent years how much it helps a young quarterback to bring in a major addition at wide receiver, and Stroud should be no different.
