After making a name for himself in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys during the first five years of his career, defensive end Randy Gregory has struggled to find a new long-term home in the league after short stints with the Denver Broncos and San Francisco 49ers.

The Broncos signing Gregory was thought to be a game-changer for Denver, but it was short-lived with the defensive end suffering an unfortunate knee injury, and then the team chose to send him to the 49ers in a trade last October.

Following a short stint with the 49ers, Gregory is on the move once again, having reportedly agreed to a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, the Buccaneers were looking for a replacement for Shaq Barrett, who ended up signing with the Miami Dolphins in NFL free agency and Gregory fit the bill.

Although many of Tampa Bay’s moves during this NFL offseason thus far have addressed the offense, with the team re-signing quarterback Baker Mayfield and wide receiver Mike Evans while also inking three offensive linemen to deals, the team has also added to the defense, with Gregory being one of their more significant moves.

The Buccaneers may not be considered to be a title contender like they were with Tom Brady leading the way a few years ago, but Tampa Bay has a chance to continue coming out on top in the NFC South division, which has kept this team’s desire to be competitive moving forward.
