The New York Jets aren’t messing around during this NFL offseason, with the storied franchise doing everything within its power to get back on track after a season that was derailed due to the superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffering an Achilles injury.
As a result of the Jets’ intention to bounce back with a vengeance next season, the team has been adding key pieces to the potential championship puzzle, with the team adding wide receiver Mike Williams, left tackle Tyron Smith, and recently trading for linebacker Haason Reddick.
Although the team was expected to make some significant improvements on the offensive side of the football, the Jets making a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles for Reddick was unexpected, but now there’s been some clarity given as to why the deal was made.
According to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles may have been concerned about Reddick “chasing” sacks, via JPA Football.
“I think there were some concerns about him chasing sacks. I don’t know that is what specifically Fletcher Cox was referencing, but l heard from people in the organization that Haason was one of the guys they thought was doing that,” McLane said.

Obviously, this isn’t a great sign for the Jets, who recently brought him in to be part of a formidable defense led by Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner.
New York is hoping to take a giant leap in the right direction, but Reddick may be a concern of theirs moving forward if this turns out to be true and he’s nothing more than a player looking out for himself rather than the team.
