Not so long ago, LeSean McCoy was wreaking havoc out of the backfield.
One of the craftiest and shiftiest running backs we’ve ever seen, he was a force to be reckoned with during his 12 seasons in the league.
‘Shady’ McCoy walked away from the game in 2020 after winning back-to-back Super Bowl rings with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
And while his role in those two Super Bowl wins wasn’t precisely big, he did put together a Hall of Famer-caliber résumé in his prime.
That’s why former NFL player-turned-analyst Emmanuel Acho backed him up as a future Hall of Famer, taking to Twitter to show some of his accolades.
All decade running back.
Most rushing yards of his decade.
Multiple All Pro’s.
Led league in rushing yards (2011).
Led league in rushing TD’s (2013).
HALL OF FAME. No question. https://t.co/7IRJH57wBd

McCoy will be eligible for Hall of Fame induction in 2026, and while some might not feel like he’s Canton material, he does have the numbers.
McCoy was a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro.
He had 15,000 total yards and 89 total touchdowns, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.
At his best, Shady McCoy was a dominant force, a tackle-breaking machine, and a guy opposing teams literally needed to game-plan for.
Even so, Pro Football Reference’s Hall of Fame Monitor gives him an 82.84 grade, which is almost 25 points lower than the average Hall of Fame running back.
Hopefully, they got it wrong this time.
