Not so long ago, NFL scouts gushed about Spencer Rattler.

He was expected to be one of the next big things in the league.

However, his collegiate career took a downturn over the past couple of years, first losing his starting job to Caleb Williams, and then going up-and-down in South Carolina.

Nonetheless, the former Oklahoma Sooner is still expected to have a place in the league.

Talking to Kay Adams for her “Up & Adams” show, he reacted to the comparisons with Matthew Stafford, specifically when it comes to his arm strength.

Needless to say, Rattler claimed to be honored about the comparisons, stating that he’s watched a lot of tape on Stafford and admitted that he’s actually tried to incorporate some of the parts of his game into his training.

The Phoenix native might no longer be the first-round-caliber player he was once considered to be, but the arm talent is most definitely there.

He could certainly benefit from some time on the sidelines, perhaps even behind Stafford, and while he’s not the youngest quarterback in this class, he could still have a future in the league if he’s properly developed.

Stafford is one of the most underrated and talented quarterbacks this game has ever seen.

So, every single time you’re mentioned with him in draft comparisons, that’s a positive.

It remains to be seen whether a team will be willing to give him a chance to earn a starting spot and fulfill his lifelong dream, but he’s worth the risk.
