Magic Johnson’s place in NBA history has been assured for a very long time but his legacy outside of the game continues to grow.

Johnson has had a very lucrative post-NBA life and recently achieved a major accomplishment.

He is now a member of Forbes’ annual list of billionaires, with a reported $1.2 billion to his name.

According to Financian on Twitter, his earnings come from several revenue streams.

They write:

“Johnson ($1.2 billion) is best known for leading the Los Angeles Lakers to five championship titles in the 1980s. But the basketball star has made most of his fortune since retiring. He owns small stakes in the Washington Commanders, the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Sparks, and Los Angeles FC. He’s also made lucrative investments in Starbucks franchises, movie theaters, and real estate over the years.”

Taylor Swift, Magic Johnson, Christian Louboutin and Sam Altman are among the 265 new faces on Forbes’ annual list of billionaires.

Of course, all NBA fans know that Johnson dominated the league for 13 years, winning five championships, four assist champion titles, three MVPs, three Finals MVPs, and has a spot in the Hall of Fame and on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

He is still considered one of the greatest guards of all time and is a legend to all Lakers fans.

When he retired from the NBA, he didn’t stray far from it.

He is still very close to the Lakers organization and has had several front office jobs since he officially stopped playing in 1996.

But he has moved beyond the league too, putting his money into a number of businesses.

Johnson is perhaps the most successful retired NBA player around and has earned a fortune through his investments.

As noted by Financian, a lot of Johnson’s money has come from working with other sports teams, such as the Los Angeles Dodgers.

At 64 years old, Johnson is now a billionaire and it looks like his vast wealth will continue to grow.
