The NBA expansion should become a reality soon.

It’s not a matter of if it’s going to happen but when it’ll go down and which cities the league will expand to.

With that in mind, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal revealed his desire to partake in an ownership group.

Talking to Atlanta Falcons QB Kirk Cousins on his podcast, Shaq admitted that he would love to be a part of a project, but he also stated that he didn’t want to have anything to do with basketball-related operations, as there are only so many things that can make him focus.

This is far from a surprise, as Shaq has dipped his toes in countless business endeavors in the past, and he was a minority owner for the Sacramento Kings in the past.

Recently, LeBron James also admitted his desire to be a team owner, and people believe he could be behind a new project in Las Vegas.

Other cities, such as Seattle, Kentucky, and even Mexico City, have also been rumored to be potential expansion cities, with Las Vegas and Seattle looking like the most obvious front-runners.

Talent-wise, the NBA could most definitely deal with an expansion right now.

There are just so many good players, both in the US and overseas, and the game has become so global and lucrative that it would almost be a disservice not to do it.

When that happens, keep an eye on the Big Diesel, as he’s going to want his piece of the pie.
