For months, NBA fans have been wondering what Bronny James, son of Los Angeles Lakers icon LeBron James, would do this summer.

Would he remain with USC for another year or try to join the league?

On Friday morning, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that James will enter the 2024 NBA Draft while also maintaining his college eligibility and will also enter the transfer portal.

The response to this news was swift and mixed, with some saying this was the right move for James and others claiming it was a bad idea.

Many people feel this is the correct path for James.

His freshman year at USC was a bit underwhelming, with him averaging just 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in 19 minutes per game.

This approach to the draft will let James test the waters and see the interest in him before making a decision about his future.

Some people online praised James’ strategy and think it’ll lead to the best choice, whether that is still in college or the league.

But others feel that James is jumping the gun by even toying with the idea of entering the league.

They feel he is overhyped and only getting attention because of his father.

“Dude can’t decide where he wants to be overhyped next,” one fan said.

Others think heading to the NBA after just one season in college will “ruin the development he needs.”

If James stays in school, he will get more time on the floor and more time to improve his game.

LeBron musta told him he’s retiring after next season because there’s no other explanation. He’ll just ruin the development he needs

And some people feel that the reaction to this news is over the top.

They would rather the process play out and James be judged based on his output next season, whether in college or the NBA alongside his father.

Can’t wait for people to overreact to this

James has had a very eventful year.

Between his cardiac arrest incident last summer, his first season at USC, and the intense media scrutiny, James has been through a lot.

Now he is plotting his next move and all eyes will remain on him.
