It’s as difficult as ever to decipher which quarterbacks are the best prospects in this year’s NFL Draft, as we could have as many as six QBs go off the board by the first 10-12 picks.
The weeks leading up to the draft are the longest weeks of the year and we all have too much time to overanalyze these prospects, and NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah is taking his crack at ranking the top-6 QBs.
Jeremiah released his current list and has USC’s Caleb Williams No. 1, UNC’s Drake Maye No. 2, reigning Heisman winner Jayden Daniels out of LSU third, National Championship winner J.J. McCarthy out of Michigan at No. 4, Oregon’s Bo Nix fifth, and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. sixth.

For months leading up to the draft, Williams, Maye, and Daniels were projected to be the top-three picks, and that could still be the case, but McCarthy, Penix, and Nix are flying up the mock draft boards as well recently.
McCarthy is seeing his name dangled at No. 2 in some rumors, while Penix’s recent Pro Day has him rocketing up from a potential second-round pick all the way up to potentially the top 5.
Mocks are all over the place at this point and it’s impossible to decipher what is a smokescreen and what isn’t, but this seems like a fairly consensus list at this point.
However, that could change tomorrow.
