It’s an exciting time to be an Indianapolis Colts fan.
Shane Steichen’s team seems to be taking the right steps towards Super Bowl contention, although it will obviously take a while.
Super Bowl or not, LB Zaire Franklin might feel like he’s the biggest winner on Earth right now.
Shortly after signing a significant contract extension, the 27-year-old linebacker celebrated one of the most important moments of his life.
According to James Boyd of The Athletic, Franklin just got married.
He also said during the NFL Scouting Combine that the best thing that had ever happened to him hadn’t happened yet, hinting at this big event.
#Colts LB Zaire Franklin (@ZiggySmalls_) got married last night. He was asked at an NFL combine event: What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you? His answer was that it hadn’t happened yet.

Franklin had one year left on his contract before agreeing to this extension.
He signed a three-year deal with a whopping $31.26 million, so it’s safe to say that the newlyweds are pretty much set for life.
A seventh-round pick back in 2018, he had already signed a three-year extension back in 2022.
Franklin has become a mainstay on the team, even becoming a team captain and one of the most respected voices in the locker room.
He’s also a synonym for durability, as he played — literally — 100% of his team’s defensive snaps two years ago, which doesn’t happen very often.
Then, he followed it up by playing 16 out of 17 games the next season, logging 99% of defensive snaps in those games.
Franklin must be walking on clouds right now, and while training camp is pretty much just around the corner, football might be the last thing on his mind at this moment.
