The Chicago Bears have been one of the most highly-discussed teams in the NFL during the offseason.
After trading away Justin Fields, it became evident that the Bears would be taking a quarterback with the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Caleb Williams is presumed to be the team’s selection, but as has been evidenced in recent seasons, anything can happen on draft night.
No matter what quarterback the Bears end up taking, analyst Jacob Infante believes this team should do their best to build the offense around him in the draft.
The #Bears have invested heavily on defense. 5 picks on Day 2 in the last two years. Signing Tremaine Edmunds, T.J. Edwards, Kevin Byard. Trading for Montez Sweat. Extending Jaylon Johnson.
That EDGE2 spot is still a need, but I think you trust your defensive-minded HC to…

The Bears also have the No. 9 pick in the draft, which could allow them to take a highly-touted receiver or offensive lineman, should the team go in the direction of offense.
Infante is under the impression that the Bears have added enough defensive pieces lately, and now it’s time for them to turn their attention to the other side of the ball.
The Bears have historically had solid defenses, but their offensive output has left something to be desired.
If they can put the right pieces around a rookie quarterback like Williams, they could greatly improve their chances of being a contender in the NFC North.
Their competition hasn’t gotten any easier in that regard, as the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions both look to be playoff hopefuls in 2024.
Can the Bears find a path to relevancy with a new quarterback?
That remains to be seen; if they follow Infante’s plan, the Bears might just be headed in the right direction.
