The Houston Texans made a bold move by trading for Stefon Diggs.

It was a statement move, one that made everybody around the league realize that they’re looking forward to going all-in right now.

Then, they doubled down on this risk-taking stance by restructuring his contract.

The Texans voided the final three years of his contract extension with the Buffalo Bills, giving him a raise and allowing him to hit free agency after this season.

This was supposed to be an incentive to Diggs, as he should be extremely motivated to ball out to get paid in his next contract.

Nonetheless, former NFL player Ross Tucker believes this may have been a mistake for the Texans.

Talking on his podcast, he claimed that he didn’t like this trade that much after this, as they could essentially have traded a second-round pick for just one year of him.

He doesn’t like the fact that the Texans couldn’t even get a compensatory pick in return for him if he leaves, adding that everybody’s going to get touches in their offense, so they might not even get that much production from him.

This was a risky move, no doubt.

The Texans clearly have plenty of faith in Diggs and his ability to make a big impact, and they may also love their chances of re-signing him.

Then again, he does have a history of power struggles with his teams, and his volatile character has also gotten him into some feuds with his teammates, so that will be another thing to keep an eye on in Houston.
