The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the best rosters in the game, and it’s not even close.
However, good things aren’t built overnight, and they need to start planning for the future as well.
With that in mind, and given the fact that both Darius Slay and James Bradberry are both in their 30s and making a lot of money, Bill Barnwell of ESPN believes Howie Roseman should move up in the first round of the NFL Draft to get a new cornerback (Via Word On The Birds).
Bill Barnwell of ESPN suggests that the #Eagles should trade up for a CB in Round 1.
“This year’s trade could be a slight move ahead of the Dolphins for a cornerback, given that James Bradberry and Darius Slay are both in their 30s and could be cap casualties next offseason.” pic.twitter.com/5Z0vqOucs2

As of now, the Eagles are slated to get the No. 22 pick, and he suggests they should try to at least get over the Miami Dolphins, who will be on the clock at No. 21.
Bradberry and/or Slay could end up being salary-cap casualties after this season, so it would make sense for this team to try and get younger at the position.
Roseman has done a solid job of balancing youth and veteran leadership all over the roster, especially on defense, so this could make sense.
Then again, whether the Eagles will be willing or able to flip their assets to get past the Dolphins remains to be seen, and it might all depend on what quarterback-needy teams are able to do to jump into the top-five or top-ten.
