Things just haven’t been working out for the Atlanta Hawks this season.
Despite a new coach and the duo of Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, the team remains the tenth seed in the Eastern Conference and is battling to stay in contention for the Play-In Tournament.
Therefore, it’s not surprising to hear that Atlanta is expected to trade either Young or Murray this summer, according to Marc Stein, via Sam Amico.

The Hawks landed Murray from the San Antonio Spurs in the summer of 2022.
At the time, it was thought that Murray would be the missing puzzle piece that could turn the Hawks into legitimate Eastern Conference contenders.
Instead, the team has kept struggling and the duo of Young and Murray hasn’t ever really panned out like expected.
There have been rumors that say the two stars don’t have a strong relationship and for the last few months, more and more speculation has grown around the team’s plans.
Earlier this season, Murray was viewed as a potential trade target by many teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers.
Eventually, the Hawks decided not to move Murray and kept him for the rest of the season.
But it now sounds like either he or Young will be on the move in the next few months.
Both players might earn a huge return and the Hawks could bolster their roster by trading one of them away.
It’s just a matter of them deciding who will be sent packing.
Young is currently out with a finger injury but there is hope he comes back before the Play-In.
If he does, will it be the last time Hawks fans see him play alongside Murray?
