Victor Wembanyama’s first season in the NBA is almost over.
The San Antonio Spurs rookie has amazed just about everyone who has watched him, including those who have played against him.
Now that 2023-24 is wrapping up for Wembanyama, Andrew Lopez of ESPN asked him what was harder than he expected during his first year.
Wembanyama admitted that remembering the scouting reports on every player was harder than he anticipated.
“You don’t know until you experience it,” Wembanyama said about playing against other NBA stars.

Wembanyama has put up monster numbers during his first year in the league.
He has averaged 21.3 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and a league-high 3.6 blocks per game.
He started with great promise and high expectations and has steadily gotten better as the season went on.
Wembanyama ends 2023-24 looking even better than he was just a few months ago and that has everyone excited for what the upcoming seasons will bring.
Adjusting to life in the NBA is very hard for everyone and Wembanyama had to learn a few things during his rookie season.
He seems to be a quick learner because he appears much more comfortable and engaged in games, especially recently.
Just the other night, the Spurs star posted 33 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists, and 7 blocks against the Philadelphia 76ers.
This was the sixth time that Wembanyama had posted at least 25 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 5 assists in a game this season.
While he admits that he had a hard time learning about scouting reports and retaining information from them, it’s very clear that Wembanyama is improving in amazing ways.
Wembanyama is about to begin his first offseason, which will give him more time to study the league and enhance his physical and mental game.
Spurs fans are very excited to see how he returns in the fall.
