The Oklahoma City Thunder have had their best season in years and are the third-best team in the West right now.
Despite their impressive success, certain people don’t believe the Thunder have what it takes to win a lot in the postseason.
For some, they are just too young and inexperienced.
But Chet Holmgren isn’t buying that belief.
Speaking with Clemente Almanza, Holmgren said, “I feel like there’s never been a team that has had success who’s never had a narrative around them. I guess that’s the narrative that we picked up. It’s on us to prove them wrong.”

The Thunder are definitely a very young team.
For example, Holmgren is just 21 years old, just like Josh Giddey, while Jalen Williams is just 22.
The team’s lead star, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, is only 25.
This is a good thing in many ways because it gives the team a lot of youthful energy and they are often free of serious injuries.
But some analysts and fans worry they don’t have what it takes to thrive in the playoffs.
Experience is a major part of winning during the playoffs and the Thunder have very little of it.
That is why many people think it’s too soon for them to win the Finals this year.
They might score many important wins but many don’t think they have enough age and experience to win a title.
Holmgren is ready and eager to prove everyone wrong.
He wants the doubters to see that even though the Thunder are young, they still have the potential to win it all.
If Holmgren and his team can make good on that, it’ll shock the NBA world and prove that age ultimately doesn’t matter.
If the playoffs started today, the Thunder would play against the Phoenix Suns in the opening round.
Few teams have as much experience as the Suns, so that would create quite an interesting matchup.
