The Seattle Seahawks have some holes to plug on their offensive line after losing guards Damien Lewis and Evan Brown to free agency, two spots that they haven’t reasonably addressed in free agency up to this point.

According to recent reports, help could be on the way sooner than later.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that former Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts lineman Ike Boettger visited with the Seahawks on Monday to explore a potential deal.

Boettger spent most of last season on the practice squad for the Colts and at age 29 will be looking to stick on the main roster in his next destination.

Boettger signed with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa and from 2018-2022, Boettger played in 34 games for the Bills, including 17 starts.

Seattle doesn’t have much cap room left and is at around $2.5 million as they head into the draft, so they need to get creative in how they fill out this roster.

Boettger is a cheap option coming off a practice squad that could serve as a necessary depth piece while the Seahawks continue to explore other options for a starter at guard.

Seattle has a pair of fourth-round picks, where they could search for guard help as well.

The Seahawks are heading into a new regime with head coach Pete Carroll no longer in town after being replaced by Mike Macdonald, and protecting veteran QB Geno Smith has to be a big priority if this offense is going to click.

Smith is not mobile and has real question marks up the middle with his offensive line that need to be solved before Week 1.
