Most teams in the NBA have only three regular-season games or so left on the schedule, which has made the playoff picture in the Eastern and Western Conferences much clearer, especially when it comes to the Play-In Tournament.

With the East being incredibly top-heavy, the West is easily the most intriguing of the two conferences heading into the Play-In Tournament, with the New Orleans Pelicans, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, and Golden State Warriors all battling it out for positioning.

Even though the West is highly competitive this season, with all four of these teams well over .500 and the regular season nearly over, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas believes the Lakers and Warriors are destined to advance to the NBA playoffs once again.

Arenas believes that the Pelicans and Kings don’t have big enough fanbases, and as a result, the Warriors and Lakers, who have two of the biggest fanbases, will be the teams to move on, via NBACentral.

In terms of money being made by these teams and the league, Arenas is right that everyone would benefit from these teams being in the NBA playoffs rather than New Orleans and Sacramento.

However, games still have to be played, and anything can happen in the Play-In Tournament scenario, where one loss can end a team’s season.

It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for the four teams involved, as they’ve all had decent seasons up to this point and are all arguably worthy of being in the postseason to have a chance at competing for an NBA title.
