The Milwaukee Bucks are thankful that Giannis Antetokounmpo didn’t suffer a major injury, but that doesn’t mean they should be relaxed right now.

His MRI came back clean and he was diagnosed with a calf strain, and while not having an Achilles injury should be a big sign of relief, they’re not in the clear, not by a mile.

That’s why Stephen A. Smith believes this team should be very concerned about their superstar player.

Talking on ESPN’s “First Take,” Smith pointed out the fact that Giannis isn’t the kind of player who usually goes down, let alone with non-contact injuries.

He’s an athletic freak who takes elite care of his body and not the kind of guy who fakes injuries or even gets hurt often.

On top of that, the sole fact that the team thought he could have an Achilles injury speaks volumes of how concerned he was, meaning they should also be concerned.

Smith also remembered that Kevin Durant had been diagnosed with a calf injury before tearing his Achilles, so that’s something to keep an eye on.

He believes the Bucks must be extremely cautious with their superstar and only play him if they’re absolutely certain he can go.

And even if that’s the case, they’re going to have to keep a close eye on him.

The Bucks have been through a lot this season, but a major injury to their best player could also jeopardize their future, so they have to take a big-picture approach here.
