The Dallas Mavericks are looking scary right now.
Mark Cuban and Jason Kidd had a vision, and it’s finally coming to fruition.
Nobody ever doubted their ability to put up points on the scoreboard with Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic leading the way, but they’ve also been suffocating on defense, beating good teams on a nightly basis.
They’re locked in to play the Los Angeles Clippers — again — in the first-round of the playoffs, and that’s a foe that Doncic is quite familiar with.
This time, however, the Mavericks could have the upper hand over Tyronn Lue’s team, and that’s because he has one thing he didn’t have before, which is a legitimate sidekick.
Talking on The Carton Show, sports analyst Craig Carton stated that the Mavericks can beat anybody in the league simply because of how talented Kyrie is, as he’s one of the best players on Earth when he’s locked in.
“The Mavericks can beat anybody because Kyrie Irving is that good,” Carton said.

That seems to be the case right now.
Kyrie has been available for most of the season, and it’s become clear that he has a close relationship and great on-court chemistry with Doncic.
As frustrating as it might be for his teammates looking to get touches, we’re talking about a one-two punch that could go for 60 or 70 points on any given night.
On top of that, the Mavs have finally surrounded Doncic with legitimate stoppers and defenders, so he won’t get pushed and bullied around by the Clippers’ enforcers.
For the first time in more than a decade, the Mavs are a legitimate NBA championship candidate.
