The Brooklyn Nets are in a tough spot right now.

They don’t have a roster that’s good enough to compete, and they don’t have draft picks to get better in the foreseeable future.

They’re not the primary free agent destination in town, and after the Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving fiasco, perhaps star players will be hesitant before joining them.

On top of that, one of their few good players is most likely going to be out in the summer.

According to NBA insider Frank Isola, this could be the end of Nic Claxton’s tenure in Brooklyn (via Legion Hoops).

“Let’s face it this is maybe [Nic Claxton’s] last game in Barclays Center in a Nets uniform.”

The Georgia product is about to become an unrestricted free agent.

At just 24 years old, he’s going to be a highly-coveted asset in the open market, as he’s proven that he can dominate on the glass, and he’s one of the best interior defenders in the game as well.

Claxon has slightly expanded his offensive game, and he’s talked about wanting to have a bigger role.

On top of that, his ability to defend in the pick and roll, protect the rim, and even hold his own on the perimeter will make him very sought-after.

Claxton entered the league as a second-round pick and climbed his way up the ranks in the organization.
