Rudy Gobert of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets faced off Wednesday night and Jokic easily came out on top.
He scored 41 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists compared to Gobert’s 13 points, 15 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Speaking on “Nightcap,” Shannon Sharpe said that Jokic has sealed up this year’s MVP and his performance over Gobert proved that.

Co-host Gilbert Arenas again stated that Jokic would be one of the weakest MVPs in years but he also acknowledged that the Nuggets star has earned the prize.
At this point, it seems all but impossible for anyone to beat Jokic.
He will most certainly earn his third MVP trophy in several weeks, cementing his place as one of the best big men to ever play in the NBA.
Although some people say he is only winning this prize because Joel Embiid is no longer eligible, Jokic has been having a dynamic and explosive season from the very beginning.
His average of 26.6 points, 12.4 rebounds, and 9 assists cannot be ignored.
Ever since Embiid’s departure from the race, no one has been able to keep up with Jokic and he has pulled further and further away from others.
Some had hoped that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander or Luka Doncic would be able to make it a close competition but Jokic has continued to play incredibly well.
Jokic may have already won MVP, according to Sharpe, but he has something else he wants far more than the trophy: another championship.
If he wins MVP and the Nuggets are champions again, Jokic’s season will be considered one of the greatest of all time.
