When the Denver Nuggets won the NBA championship last season, many felt they had a great shot at winning at least one more title and possibly even becoming a dynasty.
While they have a long way to go before they can call themselves even an entry-level dynasty, they do look like they’re on their way to winning it all again this June.
On ESPN, Ramona Shelburne said the Nuggets are poised to not only repeat as world champs but to also contend for the grand prize for the next five years, citing how they have developed young role players.

Going into this season, one concern was that Denver had almost no depth, but now, their bench has become rather solid.
Guard Christian Braun has developed into a reliable contributor, backup point guard Reggie Jackson has played well and the team has also gotten contributions from Peyton Watson and Justin Holiday.
It is generally believed Denver has more depth than the Boston Celtics, who have the best record in the NBA and may face them in the NBA Finals if they get that far.
Arguably the hardest part of winning more than one championship is navigating the league’s salary cap, which has only gotten more restrictive over the years, which means drafting well, developing young talent, and getting star players signed at reasonable prices.
Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic is under contract for several more years, co-star Jamal Murray is under contract through next season, and the team has arguably the best starting five in basketball.
The Nuggets are young enough to keep contending for a while as long as they remain intact, not to mention healthy and motivated.
