Charles Barkley Issues Clear Warning To Celtics

The Boston Celtics have dominated their competition throughout the regular season.

Not only do they have the best record in the league, but they have had the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference clinched for a few weeks at this point.

There is no doubt that the Celtics’ roster and team chemistry have helped them get to this point.

However, with the playoffs just around the corner, the Celtics cannot rest on their laurels or get complacent after their monster year.

Charles Barkley talked about this on the NBA on TNT after the Celtics had a poor first-half performance against the New York Knicks on Thursday, April 11th.

The Celtics were slow out of the gate in this one, playing poorly in the first half before figuring things out in the second half.

Even though they didn’t lose the game by as many points as one might have assumed after their first half, Barkley believes this team needs a reality check.

“If they’re gonna play like that, they shouldn’t play,” Barkley said, adding, “I know they’re gonna finish with the best record but, man, you just can’t turn it off and turn it on.”

“If they’re gonna play like that, they shouldn’t play. … I know they’re gonna finish with the best record but, man, you just can’t turn it off and turn it on.”

Barkley is under the impression that the Celtics can play well when they want to but don’t always put their best foot forward.

The playoffs are an entirely different animal, but at the end of the day, when teams limp into the postseason, it doesn’t tend to bode well for them.

If the Celtics don’t turn things around soon, it could signal an earlier playoff exit than they are hoping for.
