During his time as the starting quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, superstar Cam Newton was a neighbor of Chicago Bulls legend and arguably the greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan.
Apparently, Newton learned a lot from his highly successful and incredibly famous neighbor, as the former NFL MVP claims that Jordan was a book of knowledge and someone he soaked up knowledge like a sponge from.
Jordan, who won six NBA titles during his playing career with the Bulls, has spent most of his time during his post-playing days as the owner of the Charlotte Hornets, which he hasn’t had too much success in but has become a billionaire while doing it.
The NBA legend recently sold the majority stake in the Hornets and seems to be enjoying life as a billionaire while helping former athletes like Newton along the way.
Newton recently made an appearance on the “Club Shay Shay” podcast with Shannon Sharpe to talk about the impact Jordan has had on him.
“I learned a lot from MJ,” Newton said. “Very positive in who I am today, always was accessible to knowledge.”

Unfortunately for Newton, his playing career in the NFL was cut much shorter than anticipated as he was unable to sustain his level of play after bouncing around the league in his last few years in the league.
Although Newton was once considered to be the league’s best player or at least the most versatile, he couldn’t continue to play at that level for an extended point of time, which is why he’s not playing today while only 34 years old.
