The New York Knicks survived a major scare.

They’re still in the running to get the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, but the Brooklyn Nets made it quite difficult for them.

The Nets led by double digits for most of the first half, and they were up by nine points by halftime.

The Knicks rallied just like good teams do and took care of business in the second half, getting a much-needed win against a team they should’ve dominated early on.

Needless to say, a lot of that had to do with Jalen Brunson’s stellar play.

The former Dallas Mavericks guard scored 30 points to go along with 11 assists in 37 minutes.

However, Nets guard Cam Thomas was far from impressed with him.

Following the loss, he called Brunson out for overreacting and flopping (via New York Basketball).

“He just overexaggerated & flopped, so, kudos to him…Got me a tech on that too, I don’t like that.”

Of course, theatrics are also a part of the game, but it’s not like Brunson is known for being a flopper.

If anything, he’s already established himself as one of the best point guards in Knicks history, and while that’s kind of sad, given New York City’s rich history of point guards, it’s also encouraging for the future.

Brunson has turned this team into a legitimate force in the Eastern Conference.

As for Thomas, he blossomed into an explosive scorer this season, but the Nets just don’t have enough talent in their ranks to compete for a postseason berth.
