It’s been an eventful offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
They finally revamped their ever-struggling quarterback room, swapping Mitch Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, and Mason Rudolph for Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Now, a former Steelers great, Hines Ward, is also making the rounds, although not for his legendary career with the organization.
According to ESPN insider Pete Thamel, Ward has agreed to become Arizona State’s next wide receivers coach.

The deal hasn’t been finalized yet, but the expectation is that the former Super Bowl MVP will join the coaching staff sooner rather than later.
Hard, a two-time Super Bowl winner also has plenty of experience as an assistant coach.
He served in the very same position at Florida Atlantic and has been an offensive assistant for the New York Jets and a head coach in the XFL.
This is great news for the program, as the Sun Devils have plenty of talent in the wide receiver room, led by Elijah Badger, Jordyn Tyson, and Jake Smith.
Ward’s résumé speaks for itself, and he doesn’t need much of an introduction, as he played 217 NFL games, logging 1,000 receptions, 12,083 receiving yards, and 85 receiving touchdowns during his days with the Black & Gold.
Maybe this will be the first step towards heading back to Pittsburgh in an assistant coach’s capacity.
