The Los Angeles Clippers needed more size, and they addressed that need right before the playoffs.
They have a date with the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs ahead of them, and they want to make sure they have all the pieces they need.
That’s why they’ve given Kai Jones a chance.
According to a report by Shams Chrania of The Athletic, Tyronn Lue’s team will sign the former No. 19 pick to a multi-year deal.

Jones is fresh off a 10-day contract with the Philadelphia 76ers.
He spent some time in the G-League after being released by the Charlotte Hornets, following a string of bizarre activity on social media.
Jones drew concerns around the league for his erratic behavior, slurring his words and sweating on Instagram Live, all while stating that the Hornets would never trade him.
He followed that with a series of head-scratching tweets, calling out legends of the game and even stating that he could beat Michael Jordan and prime Shaquille O’Neal.
Some thought there was something wrong with the talented 6-foot-11 specimen, who had rarely made the rounds before that.
The Clippers add more depth to a position of need.
Jones gives them a different profile, being an athletic rim-runner and giving them another body in a potential series with Nikola Jokic, the most unstoppable big in the game right now.
